This match has a low-scoring result written all over it. England only need a draw to top the group and thus secure an automatic place in Euro 2004, and so won't be in any hurry to get forward and pressure the Turks. This could well finish 0-0, similar to the 1997 goalless draw in Italy which secured England a place in the 1998 World Cup finals. Without the threat of the ever-dangerous Michael Owen, who has hit 24 goals in 53 games for England, and whereas the replacement attacking threat is five goals in 36 games Emile Heskey, England won't be troubling Turkish keeper Recber very often. |
